AJ3 Retro Reverse Fragment
Elephant Print Replaced, Lightning Bolt Added
The Jordan 3 Reverse Fragment (DA3595-100) released September 17, 2020 at $200 and gave Hiroshi Fujiwara’s fragment design a proper showcase on the AJ3. White tumbled leather upper with smooth black leather replacing the elephant print on the toe and heel. No elephant print at all on this pair. The fragment double bolt logo is embossed into the glossy black heel panel and also appears beneath a translucent heel overlay alongside a Jumpman and “AIR” branding. A tonal white Jumpman is embroidered on the tongue. Co-branded insoles and technical data printed above the visible Air unit complete the details. White midsole, white outsole.
The black leather overlays are smooth and have a slight gloss compared to the matte tumbled white panels. Removing the elephant print was a bold move that paid off. The shoe reads cleaner and more modern than a typical J3. Rumored to have originally been part of Virgil Abloh’s scrapped “The 10” collection before it landed with fragment. A top-tier collab.
