The Jordan 4 That Started the Suede Obsession

Before the Travis Scott Jordan 4 Cactus Jack dropped in June 2019, suede wasn’t the material people associated with the AJ4. That changed overnight. University Blue suede covers the upper in a shade Nike had never used on a J4 before, a dusty, chalky blue that photographs differently in every lighting condition. Red accents hit the lace cage and heel tab. Splatter detailing on the midsole nods to the Cactus Jack aesthetic, and “Cactus Jack” text replaces the standard Flight branding on the tongue.

The suede is the selling point: thick, directional nap that changes shade when you drag your finger across it. Splatter pattern on the midsole is randomized, not a stamped repeat. Blue tone sits between sky blue and grey-blue depending on the light, which matches how the retails behave. TTS.
