There are two versions of the Fire Red Jordan 5 that matter. The Silver Tongue returned in 2020 (DA1911-102) with the reflective 3M look from 1990. This one is the other half. The Air Jordan 5 Fire Red Black Tongue carries style code HQ7978-101 and dropped September 13, 2025, for $215 as part of the 35th anniversary celebration. White leather upper, black nylon tongue, Fire Red shark-tooth midsole, Fire Red lining and lace lock. Nike Air heel branding is restored in the original 23 typeface. The black tongue version traces back to the 1990 alternate and has always had its own following separate from the silver tongue.

Leather is smooth and pliable out of the box. Fire Red pops are vivid without bleeding into adjacent panels.
