Mount Ararat Inspired the Original Foam Runner

Kanye West named the first Yeezy Foam Runner colorway after Mount Ararat, the dormant volcano in eastern Turkey. The Yeezy Foam Runner Ararat released June 26, 2020 at $75 retail as the silhouette’s debut colorway. Off-white peach EVA and algae-harvested foam build across the one-piece molded body, sculpted ventilation ports across the upper, herringbone-pattern rubber outsole, textured no-slip footbed inside. “FOAM RNNR” wordmark debossed on the interior collar, “Made in the USA” branding alongside the size.

The algae-foam pitch was the talking point on the launch. Adidas sourced the bio-foam from a hydroponic farm, mixing it with petroleum EVA to create the moldable shape. Ararat reads warmer than later Sand pairs, the cream-peach base with subtle blush undertone.
