Before the Lakers, before the championships, Kobe Bryant was a kid from Lower Merion, just outside Philadelphia. The Kobe 4 Protro Philly returned in April 2024 to honor those roots. Varsity Royal synthetic leather covers the upper with semi-translucent quarter panels showing Flywire cables underneath. A white Swoosh trimmed in University Red cuts across each side. 3M reflective stars dot the ankle collar, catching light with every step.

Kobe’s shield logo appears on the tongue and his signature lands on the lateral heel. Flip the insoles and you’ll find his birthdate: 8-23-78. Two-tone white and red laces come in the box. Phylon midsole with Zoom Air cushioning in the heel handles impact without adding weight. This colorway first dropped in 2009 and the Protro version stays faithful to that original design.
