The Jordan 1 High OG Rebellionaire (555088-036) released March 2022 as a tribute to the original “Banned” Jordan 1 commercial from 1985. The upper follows the Shadow colorway blocking in Black and Particle Grey. What makes it different is the all-over graffiti-style text printed across the entire leather upper that reads “They can’t stop you from wearing them,” quoting the commercial directly. A bold red “X” sits on each heel, referencing the Banned branding. Black leather base, grey overlays, white midsole, grey outsole.

The printed text is part of the leather itself, not a surface coating, so it holds up through wear. The Shadow-like palette keeps the shoe wearable despite the busy upper. It was sold exclusively at neighborhood retailers, not on SNKRS or foot sites, which added to the scarcity. Retailed at $170. Extra white laces in the box. Standard AJ1 High fit.
