Chicago’s Youth Drew This Shoe

The Air Jordan 5 Retro Wings released September 29, 2018, as AV2405-900 for $200. This is not a standard colorway. The white leather upper is covered in hand-drawn illustrations and doodles created by students at Little Black Pearl, a nonprofit cultural arts center serving Chicago’s South Side youth. Every pair features slightly different graphic placement. The lace toggle and mesh side panels are reshaped into wing forms, and both glow in the dark. Reflective tongue up top, green accents throughout, white midsole, and a translucent outsole. Wings-branded lace locks and three sets of laces included in the box. The shoe was made to promote Jordan Brand’s Wings scholarship program.
