Virgil’s Unreleased Vision, Finally on Shelves

Virgil Abloh designed the Jordan 1 Virgil Abloh Alaska before his passing in November 2021, and Jordan Brand released it posthumously as part of the Archive collection. The shoe pulls from Alaska’s icy terrain: white and grey leather upper with pale blue accents and a deconstructed Off-White aesthetic that Abloh pioneered on “The Ten.”

Exposed foam on the tongue, raw edge stitching, and a handwritten “AIR” on the midsole carry his signature design language forward. The leather feels broken in from the start, soft with a slight tumble, no stiffness out of the box. Pale blue hits on the heel and eyestay are subtle indoors but pop in outdoor light. Same sizing as other Jordan 1 Highs.
