The Kobe 4 Protro Gift of Mamba dropped December 27, 2023 as part of Nike Basketball’s holiday lineup. The entire upper is black, built on a light suede base with faux snakeskin on the mudguard, collar, and Swoosh. Perforations on the toe box let air in without breaking the dark theme. University Gold shows up only on the TPU heel counter where Kobe’s signature is etched, and his number “24” is debossed into both heels.

The Kobe shield logo sits on the tongue in tonal black. A solid black rubber outsole hides the Zoom Air cushioning underneath. This was a deliberate nod to the Black Mamba alter ego, stripped down to just black and gold. No unnecessary color, no extra branding. Retailed at $190. Go with your normal size.
