AJ11 Bred Velvet
Patent Leather Gets Replaced
Jordan Brand swapped out the iconic patent leather for full black velvet on the Jordan 11 Bred Velvet, and the result is polarizing in the best way. Women’s exclusive, released November 2024 for $230. Style code DB5457-061. The entire upper is velvet: mudguard, tongue, ankle collar, all of it. Chrome red Jumpman on the ankle instead of the usual stitched version. White “23” on the heel tab. White Phylon midsole with a translucent red outsole.
The velvet catches light at different angles and gives the shoe a depth that patent leather does not have. Not for purists, and not meant to be. This is the third time Jordan Brand has used velvet on an 11 (after Night Maroon 2016 and Midnight Navy 2022), but the first time on the sacred Bred colorway. Women’s sizing, size down 1.5 from men’s. See the collection on the Jordan 11 reps page. Pick it up from the shoe reps catalog.
